Happy Tuesday lovelies, I happily finished The Immortalists by Chloe Benjamin, and I must say that it is my favorite read of 2018 thus far, there were twists that I never even thought and I literally had my mouth wide open and gasped at some parts!!!!! And now without further ado here is my review of The Immortalists:

The books starts out as the prologue, 1969 New York, 4 siblings; Daniel, Klara, Varia, and Simon- they have heard talk of a lady who can tell you the day you will die. The siblings scrape the money together and go seek her out- the lady on hester street. The children get what they have sought out and the fortune teller tells each to not reveal what she has told them; each does as they are told.

fast forward to 1978, Klara has graduated high school and is not seeking out college yet wanting to increase her knowledge in becoming the best magician ever. Simon 16, young and ambitious. Their father Sal has suddenly passed away and Simon does not want to carry on the family business as a tailor, I mean who wants to do that? Klara cooks up a plan to head to California and asks Simon to go with her they can go anywhere, San Francisco, where Simon wants to go (Simon is gay but not openly) and they head west to San Francisco. Once there both live their lives, Simon a little more on the wild side sleeping with every man in San Francisco, dancing in clubs nightly, however 4 years later his vibbatius lifestyle has caught up to him, Simon is dying of AIDS, and in the early 80's there was no treatment the disease was still so new and Simon dies on the day that the lady from hester street said he would. I honestly did not see that coming it was truly a shock!

As the book continues all the children that visited the lady on hester street that day, die on the day that she had told them. I will not reveal any more of the book, as it was such a great read and I recommend everyone reading this book because there are twists and turns and things that will shock you that you didn't see coming or turning out the way that they do. I give this book 5/5 stars

Well lovelies, for now I bid you ado and keep reading you never know where it will take you
