Is It A Chore or Pure Pleasure?

Hey hey, my lovelies....I do hope that all is well in your world!! So the other day while fighting with my youngest to do her daily reading assignment, she asks me "mommy why do you read? I do it because my teacher makes me" So i pondered that question for a moment and honestly I LOVE TO READ, so I answered I read because I like to because it takes me places I have never been and it is my escape from every day reality.

I used to be that child that despised reading, because much like my youngest child I was made to do so by one of many teachers, especially in elementary school, dear god it was like the worst thing you could ask me to do I would have rather cut my left hand off (I'm right handed) then to READ!

But after reaching the end of my middle school years and into high school, I found my love for books. In my free time I would spend it in the library at school finding my next great read, I even signed up for a free period in my senior year to be an assistant to the librarian (nerd alert, right?) But after graduation, my love for books faltered again because it was time for reality....work and college so no real time for life and I didn't get to read awesome books for any class.

But, then I had my first child and I found my love for books again, even when I was pregnant I read everything and anything, hey I was a first time mom, and any first time mom knows exactly what I am talking about!!! To this day I still spend time in libraries especially on the weekends to pass my love of books and reading onto my children....okay so my oldest and middle children have jumped on the band wagon, hopefully my youngest will get there too....someday right?
