Welp the first week in 2018 is here and gone only 51 more weeks to go, lol. I am currently back to reading or listening, i completely feel that audiobooks are reading as well so there.....
For today's post I want to talk about paperback vs hardback books and what is your favorite? I will also include which I prefer and some pros and cons of each, so sit back and enjoy the view:
Personally I do prefer hardback over paperback books, but I do have both. In some instances paperback books can be a tad bit cheaper than hardback books, however hardback books are nicer and last longer than paperback books. My entire Harry Potter collection is in hardback, yet I have bought my children's collection in paperback, I mean hey kids are rough on books and most things in general. Most of my husband's books are in hardback as that is what he prefers.
Paperbacks I do feel are for traveling purposes such as beach vacations or getaways as you don't want to take your good books to be ruined and honestly I think its blasphemy to ruin any book!!!! And paperbacks again, are good for kids who are rough on everything they own. My local library has a collection of all kinds of paperbacks that you necessarily don't have to check out just say you have it and bring back when your done, but if it gets slightly ruined when on vacation, or at the pool you don't have to worry about replacing, however I feel you should replace because it could be someone's next great read.
Hardbacks tend to be first editions of said books or a collectors edition. Hardbacks also come with dust covers either leather or paper bound. When I read one of my hardback books I do like the fact that I can take the dust cover off to prevent from damaging as I read, however one downfall to hardback books is when you are reading them you have to have the entire book open, as with paperback books most people such as myself fold the one page back when that page is complete with cover and all, which, unfortunately can cause damage to the book over time, its like a necessary evil :(
Whatever you choose, which ever you prefer make sure its what makes you happy, because reading should be enjoyed not thought of as a punishment.
Until next time, keep reading lovelies, you never know where you will end up.....
